Se utilizan lubricantes de perforaci\u00f3n a base de bentonita, espumas lubricantes y otros aditivos para mantener la presi\u00f3n sobre la sobrecarga y reducir la fricci\u00f3n en los grandes cabezales de corte giratorios situados en la parte delantera de las tuneladoras.<\/p>\r\n<p>La cantidad de lubricante utilizada depende de la geolog\u00eda que se est\u00e9 atravesando. El lubricante tambi\u00e9n facilita el transporte de los escombros generados a la parte trasera de la tuneladora, desde donde son transportados por un sistema transportador o un carro de lodo hasta la superficie. Cuando estos residuos llegan a la superficie, tienen la consistencia del lodo, cuya eliminaci\u00f3n suele ser dif\u00edcil y costosa.<\/p>\r\n<p>El proceso de eliminaci\u00f3n de la suciedad suele ser el siguiente:<\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Camiones aspiradores especializados transportan el esti\u00e9rcol a una estaci\u00f3n de transferencia.<\/li>\r\n<li>Se utilizan agentes de carga como el serr\u00edn (que suele aumentar el volumen de los purines en un 50-200%).<\/li>\r\n<li>Los camiones volquete transportan la mayor carga de residuos a un vertedero final.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p>Esto significa que se necesitan m\u00e1s camiones, se pierde m\u00e1s tiempo, se producen m\u00e1s emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero y se incurre en mayores costes de eliminaci\u00f3n.
