El proyecto del gasoducto de Georgian Bay era necesario para satisfacer la creciente necesidad de gas natural en esa regi\u00f3n. MetaFLO Technologies realiz\u00f3 la solidificaci\u00f3n in situ de lo que se convirti\u00f3 en 300.000 galones de lodo. Con una media de 12 libras por gal\u00f3n, el total de residuos fue de aproximadamente 1.800 toneladas. El lodo solidificado fue apilado en bermas de retenci\u00f3n y vertido dos veces al d\u00eda para lograr una reducci\u00f3n mayor de volumen mediante la evaporaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
Resultado<\/h2>\n
Inicialmente estimamos que Enbridge ahorrar\u00eda 30% toneladas en comparaci\u00f3n con el transporte a los sitios de eliminaci\u00f3n de l\u00edquidos. La reducci\u00f3n adicional de volumen llev\u00f3 el volumen de residuos solidificados a 1.386 toneladas, lo que gener\u00f3 otros 23% ahorros en costos.
