Desafio<\/h2>\n

O Projeto Georgian Bay Pipeline foi necess\u00e1rio para atender \u00e0 crescente necessidade de g\u00e1s natural na regi\u00e3o. O novo gasoduto tinha 20 quil\u00f4metros e 12\" de di\u00e2metro. A rota do gasoduto inclu\u00eda 30 travessias de estradas, ferrovias e rios que exigiriam perfura\u00e7\u00e3o direcional horizontal (HDD) para serem conclu\u00eddas. Os fluidos e cortes de HDD usados s\u00e3o um res\u00edduo regulamentado em Ont\u00e1rio e s\u00e3o muito caros para transportar e descartar. Estima-se que 250.000 gal\u00f5es (940.000 litros) de lama de perfura\u00e7\u00e3o gasta precisariam ser descartados.<\/p>\n

Solu\u00e7\u00e3o<\/h2>\n

A MetaFLO Technologies forneceu a solidifica\u00e7\u00e3o no local do que se tornou 300.000 gal\u00f5es de lama. Com uma m\u00e9dia de 12 libras por gal\u00e3o, o total de res\u00edduos foi de aproximadamente 1.800 toneladas. A lama solidificada foi empilhada em ber\u00e7os de conten\u00e7\u00e3o e virada duas vezes por dia para obter maior redu\u00e7\u00e3o de volume por meio da evapora\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Resultado<\/h2>\n

Inicialmente, estimamos uma economia para a Enbridge de 30% em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com o transporte para locais de descarte de l\u00edquidos. A redu\u00e7\u00e3o adicional do volume fez com que o volume de res\u00edduos solidificados ca\u00edsse para 1.386 toneladas, gerando uma economia adicional de 23%.
