The chemistry of MetaFLO biopolymer is designed for the cyanidation process to achieve improvements in the gold leaching step. In addition to acting as an alkalizer in the process, by reacting with the heavy metals associated with gold, MetaFLO's biopolymer can increase gold extraction percentages by up to 3%.

How Does It Work?

ExtracTech chemically performs two functions when in contact with the ore: as an alkalizer, adapting the pH of the pulp to the desired range and bringing its stability throughout the process and also acts as a chemical oxidant performing oxidation reduction reactions with the other metals present in the gold matrix, eliminating them.

ExtracTech also provides additional oxygen to the reaction, allowing the reaction itself to be accelerated

The cyanide cannot see the gold before being exposed, so it needs to react with the metals on the surface first to then be able to see the gold.

ExtracTech, by reacting with the metals associated with the gold particles, facilitates the action of cyanide in the process.
It will react in the order of metal reactivity and break the bonds, releasing energy in a slightly exothermic reaction.
It will react more quickly with non-metals and with metals with high oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), such as iron.
